Very nice place to eat, with a nice view to the city’s main church (Nossa Senhora do Carmo). We’ve only eaten snacks and drink wine. Both we’re fantastic. Prices are good and quality is high. Wine selection is fantastic - from cheap to expensive options, wines are all good.
An interesting restaurants in the center of the city's historic district. They offer some very interesting Foods. We ordered a Marguerita pizza and linguiça da casa. This was more than enough food for three of us. We also had two house made ginger drinks that were delicious. The atmosphere was very chic and trendy. The service was wonderful. Highly recommend this restaurant.
I stopped in because of some beautiful music, and I was delighted to also have delicious food and an incomparable view.
Crazy good food, this is all I have to say. Everything we ate was handmade, from breads to jams to cheese breads. The food was always fresh (we went there twice) and well seasoned. I loved my scrambled eggs to bits and the coffee was delicious. Clearly a famous spot as many other people I med along my trip talked about this place. The staff was not ready to deal with many clients, though. It took to long to talk to us when the place was full, and they forgot some of our food, but that just happened when there were many people inside the shop. Overall, great food, just be patient or go there when it is empty.
A cozy and original place in São João, open for all day long and servicing food during all day. Their bakery and patisserie are good ones, different breads, pastries and sweets. Their food is good as well, not the best in the world but quite fair. Try their broa. It’s a pity they don’t have espresso, but soon I hope they will arrange that.
Great food, everything made in their kitchen, great location, amazing service. A pitty I didn't spend more time in the city to try more of their food. I discovered the place in my first day thanks to the reviews and are only there. Staff is amazingly friendly too. It's just a great place. Just go there
